A-Line Skirt
My friend Katie and I signed up for a beginner's sewing class at Stitches in Seattle about a year and a half ago. It was a two night class; on the first night we cut out all the pieces according to the pattern. On the second night I had bronchitis and did not go, so I was left with a pile of unassembled skirt parts and no idea what to do with them. I had an unhealthy fear of my own sewing machine, so I stuffed the skirt parts into a bag and pretended they did not exist.
Finally, last month, I pulled out my sewing machine and winged it to put them together, and surprise, it fits! It even has a zipper that works!

I love this skirt. I also love that it didn't fall apart when I washed it.
